Nearly 2,000 people came out to Sloans Lake Sunday to support the walk for Autism.
Autism, we have heard the term used frequently over the last couple of decades but do you really know what it is? Is it a disease or a mental illness and how do you know if someone has it.
Autism is a Neurological developmental disorder that becomes prevalent before a child turns three years old. Among Latino children Autism is rising at an alarming rate. More than 110 percent greater than for Anglo children. Why is this happening and What is being done about it?
Latin Life Denver is honored to be a media sponsor for this year’s Walk With Autism taking place June 12 at Sloan’s Lake Park. Please join us in supporting this important cause.
The Walk with Autism supports the Autism Society of Colorado’s (ASC) mission; improving the lives of all affected by autism. ASC’s goal is to advocate, inform, and share the journey with thousands of Coloradans through their main program areas of policy, education, and community connections. ASC is locally based and has staff serving individuals with ASDs, their families, providers, educators, and policy makers throughout the state of Colorado by providing the most current and accurate information and referrals. We work to implement programs that promote quality of life, advance legislation to increase funding for treatment & support & heighten community awareness.
