It was a perfect day for an outdoor party and concert Sunday at the Adams County Fairgrounds. Hundreds turned out to enjoy a beautiful day of old school funk music with friends and family. The Whispers were not able to perform to the disappointment of some but most quickly got over it and the party was on. Latin Life Denver Media was pleased to be the Media Sponsor for this fantastic show. Promoter Skip Reeves issued the following statement about the no show.
“Even though there are factors involved that only a few know about and many others don’t, I accept full responsibility for The Whispers not performing. I truly feel and understand the frustration of all who were disappointed. With that said, I send many thanks to those whose words of support and understanding came pouring in after the announcement. Oh, and a special mention of thanks to the staff at the Adams County Fairgrounds who bent over backwards to assist our efforts, to Ivy Taylor,(YOUR INSIGHT WAS IMPRESSIVE) the manager of Regina Belle, to Alvin Smith, Slave, Mary Louise Lee, Dawn Silva & The Brides Of Funkenstein, Dawn is a class act, and to The Dazz Band for their hugs of support, and a slammin set!!!”
