There’s a boy hiding in the hallway, listening, as his grandfather talks to a group of fellow survivors, wondering, debating if he should address of group of people at the local synagogue and tell his story of living through capture, imprisonment and escape five different times from Nazi concentration camps during the German occupation during world war two.
The campaign calls attention to Google’s YouTube TV and its plan to discriminate against Hispanic viewers by removing Univision from its main programming bundle on September 30. YouTube TV will force millions of Hispanic viewers to pay an 18% premium – a “Hispanic tax” – to maintain access to trusted Spanish-language news, sports, and entertainment.

It had been five long years since the El Grito Community 5K Race & Walk had been held in Denver’s Westside. Covid put a stop to that and a lot more in 2020. People stopped gathering for social and community functions and El Grito was no exception.
This gardening experience may not be comprehended fully by the youth today, but what they learned in this project is going to last a lifetime and will prompt questions of how and why we did some of the steps. They will teach their families and someday, their children, of the value of growing your own organic crops.
“This show is just what we need in the world right now,” said Cleo Parker Robinson, in a comment to Latin Life Denver. “Life is an adventure that is meant to be fun and mysterious. You never know where it is going to take you. Some Like It Hot is all about that, about exploring and discovering life no matter the consequences,” she added.
The festival highlights include el Mariachi Tardeada, the Summer Pachanga, Chicano Music Hall of Fame and a fabulous live and online auction featuring “everything you ever wanted but didn’t know you did”. This year’s performers include Mariachi Vasquez, Chicano Heat, Jr. Pacheco y Legado Mariachi Aguila Colorado, Mariachi los Mensajeros and more.
By the time intermission came around, the tears were already flowing. Wait, what? I thought this was supposed to be comedic play about a group of guys trying to win the title of “The Hot Wing King” in the annual “Hot Wang Festival” competition in Memphis, Tennessee. So why was the audience so emotional?
Cinco de Mayo 2025 was another fantastic party at Denver’s Civic Center Park over the weekend May 3rd and 4th. Tens of thousands of people from all walks of life came out to enjoy the perfect weather and to celebrate community and culture. The music, the dancing, the food and the fun was amazing.
