Festival Garibaldi To Kick Off A Weekend Of Celebration Of Mariachi & Folklorico Dance, April 19 & 20 at Denver’s Auraria Campus

Five organizations unite for a free community event featuring performances from 12 local Denver mariachi and folklorico groups to celebrate a weekend of Mexican music, dance, and culture April 19th and 20th at Denver’s Auraria Campus.

Festival Garibaldi will offer a festival inspired by the famous Garibaldi Plaza–Mexico City’s
mecca of Mariachi music. This community celebration will feature artistic performances from 12
local Denver Folklorico and Mariachi groups combined, including a showcase of student Mariachi
groups, gathering over 200+ youth and adult performers celebrating Mexican culture, dance, and
music. Festival Garibaldi will include over 24 performances, a free community concert, and a Mariachi
jam session. During the jam session, the community is welcome to sing and play along with local Mariachi
groups to pay homage to all the great canciones of Mariachi.
